Just like diamonds form under pressure, each setback is an opportunity for growth. It might be tough, but pushing through leads to progress. Remember, not every attempt will be perfect, and that’s okay.

I wanted to share why I train using clubs. The BI

I wanted to share why I train using clubs.

The BIGGGEST REASON!!

Cuz it feels good. While training with clubs is extremely demanding by nature of their design it presents a strength challenge unlike anything I have felt. It’s a full body experience that leaves my body shaking after every workout.

I have realized what feels good is power and adrenaline I feel after swinging something so heavy behind my head. Welding as much as 114lbs is pretty crazy. Even to me.

As a Macebell Athlete, this also prepares my mind and body for macebell competitions.

My overall wellbeing is fortified from this type of training, my body moves better, my mind is sharper, and I am getting stronger and stronger everyday.

Other Reasons:

clubs can really boost our grip strength. Stronger grip means i can pick up heavier things.

They also improve joint stability and mobility—especially in our shoulders, wrists, and elbows— since clubs require dynamic full range motion.

Another big advantage is core activation. Despite coming from a few spinal injuries over the years, I would say confidently say my back is the strongest and most mobile it’s ever been.

Plus, the movements we perform with clubs often mimic real-world activities, so we’re building functional strength that can help in sports and everyday tasks.

Incorporating a club into your training program, much like a traditional progressive overload approach, can be an effective way to enhance your workout routine. By starting with lower weight movements, you give your muscles the opportunity to get accustomed to the exercises. This phase is crucial for practicing technique and ensuring synchronicity, which helps in maintaining proper form when you move on to heavier swings.

Focusing on form and technique with lighter weights plays a significant role in reducing the risk of injury. It allows you to build a solid foundation, ensuring that your body is moving correctly and efficiently. This gradual increase not only helps in building strength but also maximizes the potential of your lifts by challenging your muscles to adapt and grow stronger over time.

52kg /114lbs Club Strength

Working with the club only 2x per week atm. This thing is so heavy my body was shaking from exhaustion by the end of the workout.

So far my body needs at least two days to recover.

Here’s what I did:

Warmup set #1 - 55lbs x 20reps
Warmup set #2 - 85lbs x 12reps
Working Set #1 - 114lbs x 6reps
Working Set #2 - 114lbs x 6reps
Working Set #3 - 114lbs x 6reps

Last week I was only able to 3 sets of paused singles…. This week I progressed to 3sets for six reps!!!

Next week I attempt 6-10reps for 3 sets
